Identified market barriers such as lack of long-term advance market commitments from airlines, lack of financing mechanisms, and long-term contracts from airlines. Identified the possible solutions, developed an implementation plan, and prepared the development plan.
Solution
Developed an aviation fuel decision support tool to help provide stakeholders (i.e., fuel buyers, investors, and renewable fuel companies) with more transparent and accurate information about fuel options and their ability to scale sustainably. In December 2011, supported by Elsevier and Virgin Atlantic, the Carbon War room launched the beta website renewablejetfuels.org, providing an online rating service of the world’s renewable jet fuel providers.
